The Foundation for Self-Taught American Artists aims to create a
deeper understanding and broader appreciation of self-taught art through the
production, acquisition, promotion, and distribution of documentary
films—supported by an engaging and dynamic website—to educate and
inspire a growing audience of diverse communities.
Goal 1
Document the work of self-taught American artists
- Create and gather documentary films and raw footage about
self-taught artists
- Build a repository of material for the purpose of expanding
scholarship about self-taught artists while supporting the mission of the
Foundation
Goal 2
Build public awareness about the work and lives of self-taught
American artists through outreach initiatives that spark the imagination and
support achievement in the lives of others
